Annotating a Text

Welcome to the rising Year 5s. This is our online learning place, where we will post some thoughts on concepts we are studying.

This is the first of a series of posts related to our Summer Assignment for Unit 1, Literary Apocalypse.

As you READ your chosen text, you will be annotating it. Here is an illustration of what types of thinking you can use to annotate your text. You can use all of these to form a set of reader responses to the text.

  1. Annotations are not on every page, usually, unless the book is so brilliant you must annotate every page! Pick out significant passages and annotate with your thoughts.
